Doors and Dreams
Have you ever dreamt of visiting far worlds and dimensions?
In C.S. Lewis’s novel Lion, Witch and Wardrobe, our the heroes travel to the magical land of Narnia filled with giants and talking animals via an old wardrobe. As a young kid, I consumed so much fantastic literature and strange TV, that I started having vivid dreams of strange lands. I was convinced that special doors could lead to other surreal worlds.
As an adult, through learning about meditation and practices such as Shamanism, I was intrigued by the idea that through training your mind or by listening to repetitive tribal drumming, you can access elevated states of consciousness, and possibly travel to other realms.
This photomontage series celebrates the idea that worlds beyond this physical one can potentially be accessed through doors and dreams of your mind. The photos to create these have come from my travels in South Africa, India, Cambodia, China, Prague, Denmark, Finland, Zambia, Mexico, Arizona and California.
